What is a life path number?
Your life path number is the most widely used core number in Pythagorean numerology. It is calculated from your full birth date and describes recurring themes around purpose, motivation, and the lessons you meet across relationships, work, and personal growth.
Unlike name-based numbers such as your destiny (expression) number or soul urge number, your life path does not change. It reflects the long arc of your chart: how you tend to lead, collaborate, create, or heal when life asks you to grow.
Each result from 1 through 9 carries a distinct archetype. When the birth date total equals 11, 22, or 33 before final reduction, many calculators keep those master numbers 11, 22, and 33 instead of reducing to 2, 4, or 6.
How to calculate your life path number

Write your birth date in month, day, and year form
Use the calendar date on your birth certificate. Example: July 15, 1990 becomes 7, 15, and 1990.

Add every digit together
7 + 1 + 5 + 1 + 9 + 9 + 0 = 32. There is no need to add month, day, and year separately first unless you prefer that method; both paths reach the same total when done correctly.

Reduce to one digit unless you hit a master number
32 becomes 3 + 2 = 5. If the total were 29, you would get 2 + 9 = 11 and usually keep 11. The same rule applies to 22 and 33.

Worked example
